Winter Lecture Series 2017-2018

Important Note : The AGM meeting on 14th February will be held in Adelaide's, 209 Bath Street, Glasgow.
The meetings on 14th March and 11th April will be held in the Quaker Meeting House which is located at 38 Elmbank Crescent, Glasgow, G2 4PS.

Elmbank Crescent runs off Elmbank Street between Bath Street and St. Vincent Street. The new venue is 70 yards from Charing Cross Station and 100 yards from the King's Theatre. The meeting room is on the 1st floor and is served by a lift.

This change has been made due to the large increase in the charges at Adelaide's.

Afternoon Lectures are held on Wednesdays at 2:00pm with the exception of the AGM when the lecture will start at 2.30pm following the AGM at 2:00pm.
Tea and coffee is available after the afternoon lectures at a cost of £1

The programme for 2017-2018 is given below. Lectures are free to Members of the Glasgow Members' Centre. They are open to visitors but we ask for a donation of £2.00 per lecture.

Wednesday 11th October 2017 at 2:00pm
Richard Williams, General Manager of Glasgow and the West NTS, will give a talk on the work of the NTS.
Wednesday 5th November 2017 at 2:00pm
Efric McNeil, President of the Glasgow Art Club, will give a talk on the history of the club.
Wednesday 17th January 2018 at 2:00pm
Fergus Sutherland,and Archaeological and Historical Researcher, will give a talk on the 1911 Glasgow Exhibition.
Wednesday 14th February 2018 at 2:00pm
AGM followed by a talk by Alasdair Eckersall, Property Manager and Senior Ranger, giving an overview of the footpath work undertaken by the NTS.
Wednesday 14th March 2018 at 2:00pm
Niall Murphy, Historical Buildings Officer with Glasgow City Heritage, will give a talk on the statues of George Square.
Wednesday 11th April 2018 at 2:00pm
John Sanders, architect, will give a talk on the restoration of the Willow Tearoom.
